TEN x TEN Selected for The Architectural League's 2024 Emerging Voices Series

TEN x TEN Landscape Architecture + Urbanism has been selected by The Architectural League of New York as a winner of its annual Emerging Voices competition. Emerging Voices spotlights North American individuals and firms with distinct design voices that have the potential to influence the disciplines of architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design.

Each year the league selects eight emerging practices through a juried, invited portfolio competition. The award recognizes individuals and firms whose work addresses pressing contemporary issues, from climate change and resource extraction to social inequities and exploitative labor practices—with a distinct “voice” and the potential to influence the disciplines of architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design. The jury reviews firms that have a significant body of realized work and considers accomplishments within the design and academic communities as well as the public realm. 

Along with TEN x TEN, this year’s winners include AD—WO, CANO VERA arquitectura, David T Fortin Architect, Estudio ALA, HILLWORKS, Latent, and THE OPEN WORKSHOP. This year’s jury was comprised of Marie Law Adams (LANDING STUDIO), Paola Aguirre (Borderless Studio), Behnaz Assadi (Ja Architecture Studio), Fernanda Canales (Fernanda Canales Arquitectura), Irene Cheng (California College of the Arts), David Godshall (TERREMOTO LANDSCAPE), Mario Gooden (Mario Gooden Studio: Architecture + Design), Bryan Lee (Colloqate Design), and Jess Myers (Syracuse University School of Architecture).

Being selected for the series includes several exciting components, including a public online lecture and moderated discussion with a member of the jury and a published interview with the League’s editorial team in Archinect. Maura Rockcastle and Ross Altheimer of TEN x TEN will be giving their online lecture with Fermín Andrade, Juan Carlos Cano, and Paloma Vera of CANO VERA arquitectura on 3.28.24 at 12 pm EST with a discussion moderated by jury-member Fernanda Canales.
