Hi, I’m Ross.

I co-founded TEN x TEN with Maura to shift practice towards collective curiosity, agency, and experimentation. I believe that transformative design emerges from deep ways of knowing, storytelling, and the authenticity of people and places. My process-based approach engages the depth, complexity and interrelatedness of land, culture, and histories.

My deep appreciation of nature and culture came from my mom, an environmental educator, and my love of design and innovation from my dad, an auto worker and tinkerer. I love pushing disciplinary boundaries beyond landscape into territories of art, installation, design build and experience design. I find great happiness through building and collaborating with teams of curious and joyful humans.

I live near the Mississippi River gorge and spend as much time outside as possible, exploring Minneapolis and Saint Paul in a vintage Glastron, Nordic skiing, running all the trails, and watching bees that nap in my native gardens at home.

Favorite Tree: Catalpa tree, Catalpa bignoniodes (best form, best flower, best latin ever)
