Congratulations, Erica!

06.18.2024

We would like to congratulate our Managing Director, Erica Christenson, , on her 5th anniversary with TEN x TEN!

Since joining the TxT team in 2019, Erica has played an integral role in many award-winning projects, including the the Cedar Lake + Lake of the Isles Plan, and the award-winning Historic Fort Snelling at Bdote Revitalization and the Basilica of Saint Mary Comprehensive Vision.

Erica is an empathetic listener and strategic communicator, nurturing an office culture of trust, curiosity, and care. Coaching others to find their way through complex conversations, she thrives as a mentor for the TEN x TEN team.

Unearthing shared purpose, she is skilled at finding alignment and clarity amongst competing voices and steering them into simple design drivers. Erica excels at finding common ground to ensure critical details come together in support of the collective vision, collaborating across disciplines to find solutions to unexpected problems.

Erica has shared her favorite parts of working for TxT, along with some other fun facts:

It’s been lovely helping envision an open space network and public realm for a sustainable development project in my hometown(ish) of Madison, Wisconsin. I love having conversations with our team, collaborators and clients about what aspects of the existing landscape can be improved through design and what we can simply enhance through advocacy and select restoration. This project has been an exercise in celebrating opportunities for light- or no-touch moves to preserve what’s beloved about this place, which can be just as powerful as creating something new. Shout out to the project team for all the deep research, detailed study and bold vision on this collaboration!

What is your favorite vacation destination? My favorite vacation spot is Badlands National Park in South Dakota.

What is your favorite plant?  It’s hard for me to pick one plant that I love, so let’s celebrate the lesser-known(?) prairie plants: purple prairie clover, round-headed bush clover, rattlesnake master, partridge pea, and hoary vervain. <3 <3

What is the best concert you’ve ever been to?  The best concerts I’ve been to always involve The Faint and dancing so much I can’t walk the next day.

Thank you for all you do, Erica, and we’re so grateful to have you with us!
