KYLE FRANTA DESIGNER

Hello, I’m Kyle!

My design approach is centered around a collaborative process where I enjoy making connections and unearthing shared interests to catalyze physically constructed places. My curiosity and openness to creative exploration, paired with my passion towards graphic and visual representation help deepen the site interventions I take part in.

I found my way into landscape architecture after searching for a way to combine my background in agrarian-focused plant science and construction. Here, my love of designing through the act of making and my curiosity surrounding the ephemeral qualities of ecological systems pair together to inform my work. I am most joyful when curating contextual plant palettes for projects that include native, adaptive, and resilient plant species that can thrive and contribute to existing ecosystems.

When I’m not at work you can find me exploring Minneapolis on my red 1985 Trek road bike, riling up my kitties, Len and El, or losing to my wife at board games. I also enjoy seeking out surplus plants from my neighborhood to see if I can squeeze them into my yard and testing out new veggie varieties in my garden.

Favorite plant: Bradbury's Monarda, Monarda bradburiana
