Hello, I’m Katie!

Driven to make with purpose and with others, I most value work that is cross-disciplinary, collaborative, and inclusive. I have a background in fashion and interior design and a lifelong love of art and children’s book illustration that informs a creative process grounded in playfulness, joy, curiosity, and storytelling.

My professional experiences have largely been focused on cultural landscapes, sacred and contested sites, memorials, interpretive planning, and community-engaged design. These landscape typologies reflect the interests that originally brought me to landscape architecture: a desire to tell stories, to engage with history and people, and to consider how landscapes can help us connect, teach, and heal.

Originally from the Hudson Valley in upstate New York (Mohican and Lenape land), I have a deep love for the Catskill Mountains and everything bagels. I’m happiest in the kitchen making an elaborate meal for friends or painting and collaging at a big window.

Favorite plant: Thread-leaf bluestar, Amsonia hubrichtii (a four-season wonder)
